The bowling centres of Northern Ontario are opening slowly and safely with the hopes that the 2020-21 season can get underway.

The abrupt end to last season, the cancellation to some zones & provincials and all national events, we want to look forward and be ready for what lies ahead.  It will be a season like no other but we are confident that Northern Ontario will continue to keep up the great work they have been doing to keep this pandemic at the low levels we have experienced.

The youth bowlers that qualified for the YBC nationals will all be receiving their official jacket & shirt as a momento of the year that could have (and should have) been.  We are very proud of our provincial champions and hope they all will look at their accomplishment with the same pride despite not being able to compete at the next level.

It is especially difficult for the graduating bowlers that had their final eligibility taken from them.  We wish them all well on their future bowling endeavors and hope they continue on in the adult ranks for many years to come.

All tournaments that were able to be held in the 2019-20 season will continue on in their usual rotation but any not held will remain at the same venues they were scheduled for.  Full event locations and dates will be posted very soon.

All the proprietors of Bowl Northern Ontario would like to congratulate Brian & Laurie Bonnie from Superior Bowladrome in Thunder Bay on their retirement and sale of their business.  It is bitter sweet as it will not be re-opening as a bowling centre but thankful for the many years that the Bonnie family has given to 5 pin bowling.  We wish them nothing but the best for their future plans and we are sure they will be found at some events down the road.

We hope everyone stays safe and please call your local bowling centre if you have any questions about how they are planning to move forward this season and watch for our calendar of events to be posted.  Let’s do this right and do it together.  Forward is the only way to go.
