CLUB 55 (SENIORS) PROGRAMS
In 1972, Bowl Canada recognized the need for a program specifically tailored to the ‘Golden Agers’, so the Golden Age Bowlers Club was born.
The objectives were to encourage seniors to take part in a healthy lifetime activity; to provide a means of moderate exercise on a weekly basis; and to offer an environment where seniors could socialize with their peers and share in a fun and challenging sport.
The Golden Age Bowlers Club led the way to “Club 55”, as it is today.
Many centres in Northern Ontario belong to Club 55, which provides a fun social activity for those 55 and over. Club 55 also offers a membership card, which provides its members with twelve (12) free games of bowling as well (one per month) plus tournaments which can lead to provincial and national championships. The “Bowl Canada Cup Club 55” tournament is one such event.
So to anyone 55 or over – sign up – you won’t regret it!!!
