It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of Peter Barr.  Peter has been involved with bowling in Northern Ontario as a proprietor, a bowler and secretary/treasurer of the Bowl Northern Ontario board for many, many years.  If you ever attended a Bowl Northern Ontario event, chances are, Peter was in the background making the gears turn smoothly.  He was never one for the spotlight but with his efforts (along with his partner Jeannette), our YBC, Club 55, National Classified, Bowl Canada Cup and John Paziuk Memorial tournaments were always successful.

We are a better association thanks to Peter’s involvement.  He will be truly missed by the Northern Ontario bowling community, as well as many others across Canada.  Our deepest condolences go out to his beloved partner Jeannette and his entire family.

From Arnie Rollins, president Bowl Northern Ontario:

Lynn and I are at a loss for words, our friend for over 30 years and also my partner in Whitewater Lanes has passed away. We and the bowling family are going to miss him, his smile, his quick wit and the pleasure of being around him.  Our condolences to his partner of 40 years Jeannette, we are so used to having the two of you together, we will be looking behind you wondering where Peter is.  Jeannette, we love you and will always be available whenever or wherever you need us.  Northern Ontario meetings will never be the same without Peter and I am sure he knew how much we all cared for him.

Full obituary is under Peter’s picture.
